Then venture outside to search for Barred, Screech, Saw-Whet, and Great Horned Owls on Aton Forest properties. Dress for the weather!
Fran is Vice President of Litchfield Hills Audubon Society and Board member for Aton Forest, Inc. He has led many bird walks and trips over the past 25 years and continues with a focus on education and sharing the enjoyment of birds based on his extensive knowledge of birds in Connecticut with focus on bird migration, owls, and bird song. A superb bird call imitator, Fran can imitate songs and calls of more than 40 species of birds in our region; including owls!
There will be owls.
Aton Forest is a non-profit land protection organization and ecological field station, created for preservation of Natural Area Preserves (semi-managed and wild lands), operated for ecological and forest succession research in northwest Connecticut and surrounding bioregion.
